Give-away & wip!

I;ve stitched quite a bit on Stitchy Witch  the past few days.  As you will see from the picture in my last up-date I ripped out the green and cream border as it just wasn't floating my boat..lol.  Even though I am so enjoying stitching this chart my fingers are itching to start something else. But I don;t really like having too many projects on the go at once so I will just have to be patient and hopefully this will be finished by the week-end.
To celebrate reaching my 100 followers I am having a surprise package give-away.   To enter all you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me more about you, your stitching likes, dislikes, other hobbies, interests etc. I will announce the winner on Saturday 1st May. Hugs!

Hi Elaine, well I am a 35 year old dinnerlady, cleaner, mum and housewife. I also volunteer at the local hospice charity shop and I help run the local infant school gardening club.
My main hobby is stitching, but during the summer the gardening takes over. we have an allotment where we grow lots of yummy veg.
I also like cooking as before I had the children I was a chef.
I love working with eaven weave or linen, my fabric of choice is 32ct belfast, I love the american hand dyed threads like WDW and GAST but most of the time I use DMC.
My favourite colours are green, cream, natural earthy colours.
My favourite designers are Lizzie Kate, Blackbird Designs, The Sweetheart tree, Blue Ribbon, Ink Circles. I like quirky more unusual designs.
Well I think I've yabbered on long enough, sorry Elaine.

Hello, Elaine! More about me, hmmmm...I started stitching when I was about 8, and it has been a passion since then. I didn't do much for several years because of babies, but I'm back to indulging myself with projects.
I love 40 and 36 ct linen, and I enjoy all types of fibers. Overdyeds and silks are my favorites though.
I am quite picky about what I take the time to stitch. If I don't absolutely love it or have plans of displaying it, I won't start it. I stitch only one or two things at a time.
Some things I like to do besides stitch are play the piano, lift weights and exercise, watch movies and do yard work.

Congrats on the 100!

Your Stitchy Witch is looking great...

Let's see, other than cross-stitch, I enjoy writing, photography, travel, and reading. My favorite color is blue (all shades), but I also like greens and browns. I really don't have a preference yet in stitching motifs. I guess I have an eclectic taste and stitch what strikes me as beautiful or interesting. My favorite creatures are cats and frogs.

Thanks for a chance to enter your giveaway!

Hello -
I have just gotten back into stitching in the last few months. I had quit for about 10 years due to kids, life, etc. Now that we are semi-empty nesters, I have more time, plus the internet makes it so much more convenient to find supplies. I like primitive designs mostly, and samplers. I have only ever used DMC thread, being too afraid to use others for fear I will fall in love with them! I'm not to keen on finishing work and my stack of projects needing to be finished is growing. My other hobbies are walking, reading and watching sports. Enough already! Thanks for the chance to enter.

Congratulations on getting 100 followers.

Hi Elaine! I like stitching all sorts of things - LOVE Textile Heritage (from Scotland :)) and Polstitches biscornus. Also love Ink Circles, John Clayton, Chatelaine Designs, etc, etc!! I mostly stitch on evenweave or linen these days, but am happy to stitch on aida if a design calls for it.

I'm not sure what to tell you about me that you don't already know! :) I love how your stitchy witch looks! The nice thing about stitching it yourself is that you can change anything you want to, including the colors. :) Hugs, Elaine

Congratulations Elaine on your 100 followers - what a buzz!
2010 is the year of the snowman, but 2011 may end up being the year of the sheep! Last year, it was snowmen that stood out in charts, this year, I keep being distracted by sheep!
I guess I like primitive rather than quaker, I prefer samplers to scenic, whimsy to grapically correct & I prefer vintage to modern. I have no preference on material - will stitch on whatever comes to hand at the time!
I am 2 generations away from Scotland, and hope to visit Fife one day.
Thank you for this chance and Congratulations once again!!

Hi,

I love your witch!

I have been stitching for more than 20 years and love stitching BBD, Mirabilia, Blue Ribbon, LHN and L&L designs. I have just started stitching a HAED, which is coming along slowly... I find myself leaning towards sampler/quaker designs at the moment. I usually stitch on linen, and use DMC, GAST, WDW, Crescent Colours and Dinky Dyes threads.

I also enjoy reading, walking, blogging and listening to rock/pop music.

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to enter your giveaway!

Love your progress on Stitchy Witch. The fabric is perfect for it!

I guess cross stitching is my main hobby. I've been stitching over 20 years and very much love the American designers. I dabbled in quilting before I started cross stitching and even though I don't do that anymore I still can't resist buying fabric if I like it for those 'you never know when you might need it' times!

Congrats on reaching over 100 followers!

Congrats on 100+!

Your witch looks great! The fabric v floss contrast is lovely~

About me: I learnt to stitch around 8, drifted away in my preteens and got back to it with a vengeance after uni. I enjoy stitching ladies, mermaids, dragons, fantasy designs. Not sure how to put it other than I like pictures. I also like geometric designs. I stick to DMC because I know that colours will be (mostly) unchanging, and because all the fancy threads are out of my budget. I have a chronic startitis problem and stick to larger designs because my finishing skills are lousy!
Other than stitching my passion is books. I read like it's going out of style (which if I want to be cynical, it is)

Ooh--you're up to 102 now, Elaine! Congratulations--your blog is a delight to read and I always enjoy my visit...

My favorites: the color blue, Christmas or Halloween designs, tiny designs, Prairie Schooler. Cross stitching is my main passion, but I love reading (I'd better, being a librarian, right!!) and gardening.

Thanks for the chance and I'm looking forward to seeing your witch all stitched up :)

Love Your WIP!

More about me: Besides cross stitch I love to knit and read. I love, love, love my Kindle. I find myself reading now in every spare moment. My DH and I have been empty nesters for about 4 years but my daughter is moving home after college so that will be quite a change. I have 3 furbabies and no grandchildren yet. I live in AZ but would love to live close to the ocean. That's where I feel most at home.

I have been stitching 30 years. I didn't stitch for a few years when the kids were much younger. I love Halloween and primitive. I love 36ct and 40c fabrics. I am not into silks much, too expensive for me.
BTW! the WIP is looking great, love that purple fabric.

I like to read, I'm slowly getting back into quilting after a 10 year hiatus, I love crime shows and dramas, Coronation Street and Judge Judy. Nothing too high brow for my tastes. ;) I love samplers, reproduction and folk arty type original, 40 count Zweigart based linens, etc. My favorite time of the week is Friday afternoons--my pup beside me on the sofa as we watch Judge Judy together while I stitch. Well done on getting to 100 followers. Well I'm Michelle, 44 years old (on Monday 3rd May!), married to Andrew and have 2 sons, a nearly 16 year old and a nearly 3 year old (who is going on 30!). He should have been my first son as I was younger then to cope! I have been cross stitching for over 35 years and absolutely adore it. I love Lizzie Kate, Blackbird Designs, Miladys Needle, Country Cottage Needleworks, Little House Needleworks, The Sampler Girl (pretty much most of the american cross stitch designers). I only stitch on either linen or evenweave and I love hand-dyed threads! I have recently got into the quaker style and french country designs. I love making pin-keeps and small hangings.

Hi - my name is Carol and I live in the UK. I have been stitching for over 35 years and blogging for over two years. I used to teach classes in my LNS for both children and adults.I love to stitch on very high count linens (55ct - yes I said 55ct!) and I am now back designing under the name of iStitch. My first range of charts are called Sew Designs.
Congratulations on your 100+ followers and please enter me into your draw!

Congratulations, and kudos for beautiful stitchery! I've been cross stitching for more years than I can remember but don't have a lot to show for all the time and effort - most things have been gifts. I just sent off a self-designed charity square to be included in a quilt and have I Love You to the Moon and Back to frame for a girl (and her daughter) at work. I'm in the middle of stitching something for each of the six ladies I work with but now need to take time from that series for three new baby gifts (to be competed some time before they all start school, haha).

I love to work on high counts of linen and evenweave, have just started using overdyed threads and LOVE them, and like uplifting verses and Christmas designs but will do just about anything - I'm somewhat eclectic!

I've recently discovered all these wonderful blogs and have to admit that reading and being inspired by all these beautiful WIPs and finished have become an happy addiction!

Thank for the chance to enter your drawing - I'm sure it will be something exciting.

thanks for extending your deadline. Typical me, I seem to be a dollar short and a day late so many times. It's called being over extended! or not knowing how to say no! Either way, I am a stitcher, a mom, an employee, a wife, a gardener, a crafter. Thanks for the chance to be entered in your drawing. I know it will be somethine nice.
