A finish, a start and flowers!

After missing the deadline to complete I resisted the temptation to toss this aside and spent my week-end finishing it off. It is such a cute design. I think it would be great finished off framed with school type buttons around a mount board.

I started this a few weeks ago to help keep my sanity during the run up to Prom. The chart is Willow House by BBD that was very kindly given to me by my dear friend Corinna. Keep an eye on my posts as I will be passing forward the chart when I am finished. As usual I am stitching it with threads from my stash and as anyone who has already stitched it will notice I have made it into a portrait piece instead of landscape. I am loving stitching this and wish I could work on it all the time but I need to do an exchange piece, a challenge piece and a few gifts. I really shouldn;t moan at least my stitching mojo is intact..lol.

We have had some wonderful sunny weather recently and it sure has helped the flowers in our garden. Roses are one of my favourite flowers and I have these four growing under my living-room window. Hubby Ian actually thought that the winter weather had killed them off , how wrong was he, they are just gorgeous.
My pots that I filled a few weeks ago are really coming along as well.

Hugs and happy stitching to everyone out there in blogland!

I love the color threads you chose for Willow House.

Those little yellow flowers were called "Ladies' Purse" when I was a little girl. What do you call them?

I love your new start--I imagine it would be so hard to stop working on it in order to stitch your other projects!

Lovely, lovely flowers--I am surprised that our 4 feet of snow this winter didn't damage our flowers, too. Instead, they look better than ever :)

I just love the apple finish! It is such a great idea, a great design and a beautiful stitching! For sure there will be another opportunity and another teacher will be very happy with it! Your flowers are also beautiful! :)

About the photos of Heathers prom, in Hungary there is something similar. Every class in their last year of school learn a dance with the help of a dance teacher. It can be anything from waltz to disco. Then there is kind of a school ball, with all the parents and relatives and friends invited. The kids perform their dances, and afterwards, most often parents can also dance a waltz or something similar with their kids. It is a nice event. Students also receive a ribbon that they wear afterwards on their coats. It has the years when they started and when they finished secondary school. They wear it until the end of the school year or so.

Best wishes,
Edit

What beautiful flowers! I just posted photos of my Edith Holden rose on my other blog. It seems this year that some things are blooming better than ever after the nice cold winter we had in Holland. Have you found that there too?

I love the idea of the apple for a teacher with all the kids signing the matt. And yours has turned out just beautiful!
