I really wanted to finish off Uncle Sam with some tiny red, white and blue buttons but sadly I could not find any here in Scotland or at any uk websites. Elaine is going to try and get some to make him complete.
I found this pretty design in one of the first magazines I purchased ten years ago when I started stitching. As usual though I changed the colours to suit myself. The sweet little scissors I purchased on ebay, they were so pretty I just had to have a pair for me too. Of course when it came to making the scissor case up I had the same old problems, my finishingitis disease...lol. I had one attempt at sewing and then it took three different types of glueing to finally get it to resemble something that would hold the scissors. Elaine loves it though and thats all that matters.
This is the complete package, Elaine does cross-stitch, sewing and card-making so I included some fabric, ribbons, bows and charms. She is also mad about Owls so as soon as I saw the Just Nan Owl Humbug chart I just had to get it for her.
It was another delight for me stitching for someone I know will really appreciate it and I so enjoy putting together all the bits and bobs that make up the package. Enjoy Sis!
Hugs again to everyone who like me such kind thoughts on my last post. Today is a good day and I have been stitching this morning. I am catching up on my SAL. Mays chart is a cute little owl which I should hopefully have completed in no time. Happy Stitching!

That's one fabulous gift package! I stitched that Uncle Sam last year on mail-art envelope, the first one I ever dared to send 'naked'. It arrived in fine condition and made a great July 4th surprise!
