Mr & Mrs Snow

Anyone out there in blogland have any suggestions how I can finish off this cube. With it being blue on one side and pink on the other I am just not sure if I used a ribbon or bow what colour to use. Or maybe someone can suggest another way, I just feel it needs something.
I really should be doing housework today but my needle and thread is calling to me so I am going to be real selfish today and put my feet up, watch some movies and stitch. Hugs.

Fa La La Finished

My little freebie snowman is all finished, I have to say he looks better in real life than he does in the picture..lol. I just love snowmen and in a few weeks time I will be bringing out my collection that I display in my home every christmas. I have stitched ornaments, pillows, candles, musical , ceramic, cuddly , just snowmen, snowmen and more snowmen and of course what am I stitching next, more snowmen...
Happy stitching everyone.

Another finish & WIP

This is my first attempt at this kind of finishing, it's not too bad but I'm just not happy with the pulled threads from the evenweave on the bottom and top. Hopefully I will make a better job next time.

Not much time to stitch this week but this is my WIP so far on the plumpuddingneedleart freebie. The colours are completely different as I love stitching my snowmen with bright colours. Fingers crossed I will get a chance to settle down in front on tv tonight and stitch, stitch, stitch. Hope everyone has a good week-end. Hugs!

A finish and a sad good-bye

I had a lovely quiet day yesterday so I managed to get quite a few hours stitching done. My joy design is nearly finished, all I need is some cream colour seed beads. Typically when I checked my stash I had every colour of bead you could imagine but no cream. I can feel a trip to hobbycraft coming on..lol. I had intended my next project to be another Lizzie Kate design but when I saw the cute snowman freebie from http://www.plumpuddingneedleart.com/ that Clare had stitched on her blog http://aimetu-clare.blogspot.com/ I just had to go print it out and kit it up.

Sadly this afternoon I need to say good-bye to my little two year old mindee Sam. I have looked after her 45 hrs a week since February, so she has really become part of the family. As a two year old at times she has been quite a handful and a real challenge but she is very lovable and is forever giving you kisses and cuddles. I am so going to miss her.

Joey giraffe and Horace bear are two cuddly toys that have been part of the family for quite a few years now. They sit on a box in my living-room and all the children I have looked after love to play with them. Sam just adores Horace and plays and cuddles him all day. She has become really attached to him and it won;t be easy for her settling into a new childminders home so Horace is going to be going with her. We are all going to miss him, especially his friend Joey but I'm sure Sam will take great care of him and he will meet many new children who will share and love him. Bye-bye Horace xxx

WIP

This is my progress on my Lizzie Kate design, it is stitching up quite quickly. No matter how my stitching tastes have changed over the years Lizzie Kate will always been one of my favourites. There cute, modern and don;t take a slow stitcher like me forever to stitch.
Happy Stitching!

Monday, Monday

Well I am sorry to say I am still not feeling too great today. My doctor has given me painkillers and is referring me to hospital. Fingers crossed I won't have to wait too long for an appointment. Thankfully the pain doesn;t stop me from stitching and it does help to take my mind off it. I finished stitching my freebie design and I am now working on another Lizzie Kate ornament design from a tiny tidings chart. My plan is to stitch the rest of the week and then spend the week-end making up some more of my finished pieces into ornaments, pillows etc.

These pictures that are on my blog today, including my home page one were all taken by my husband Ian. He is a keen amateur photographer and we were delighted when recently he got permission to display his photographs in a new local garden centre tea-room. He took me there for lunch today and we were thrilled to be told he had sold his first photograph. If anyone would like to see more photographs you can view them and also purchase framed or mounted images on his website at http://www.ianmainphotography.com/ . A nice christmas or birthday gift for that person who already has everything and we all know one of those people...lol.
I also want to say thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read, leave comments or is now following my blog. Hugs!

Few Finishes

When I came back to my stitching recently I decided that I really had to try and do something with all those stitched pieces that were finished but just piled up in a box in the back of the cupboard. I raided my stash and found this cute little tuck pillow and snowman button so one down just a few hundred to go...lol.

This little ornie is the first piece I have stitched for a year and thankfully it has got my stitching mojo back. The design is from the uk Cross-stitcher magazine. I am now working on a really cute freebie design using vikki clayton silks. It is stitching up really quickly but I can't tell you what it is or show any pictures as its a gift for another stitchy blogger.

I haven;t had a great start to this week as I have been in a lot of pain the past few days with my gallstones. I was diagnosed a few years ago but its only in the past three months that I have started having really bad attacks again. I managed to get an appointment with my GP next Monday so hopefully he will contact my consultant and get me moving on the waiting list to get them removed. My two year olds Mum has also given me notice to leave next Friday. I am really going to miss her, it is so difficult when you take a child into your heart and home and then they have to leave. Saying good-bye is the hardest part of my job.
